We've Got It Covered {4}: Patiently Awaiting

I was on twitter when I noticed not one but, two new book covers!  Sever, the last installment in Lauren DeStefano's Wither Trilogy, now has a cover.  Asunder, sequel to Incarnate by Jodi Meadows, has also been covered!  Check them out below!

I read Wither and enjoyed it, although it took quite a while to read.  I have yet to read Fever but, I liked the cover for Wither the most out of all three.  Fever takes second place and Sever takes third.  Although I still like this cover, I don't love the color scheme.

I read Incarnate and really enjoyed it so I can't wait to check out Asunder!  The cover is definitely beautiful, although I like Incarnate's a bit more.  Who knows, though?  Maybe once I read the book, I'll like this cover more.

Cover Reveal: Everbound & Rise

I was reading some blogs yesterday and I came across an exciting cover reveal!  Brodi Ashton's new book Everbound, the sequel to Everneath, finally has a cover.  I haven't read Everneath yet but, I've heard great things about it!

As I continued reading my daily blog roll, I discovered yet another Harper book with an awesome new cover!  Rise by Anna Carey, the last in the Eve trilogy, now has a cover.

I'm really excited to read Once (Eve #2).  I read Eve and although I had mixed feelings about it, the end was such a cliffhanger!  I can't wait to find out what happens to Eve and Caleb.  Then I'll be on to Rise!  I think both of these covers are pretty but, I feel like if I saw them in a bookstore, they don't catch my eye.  I like when the book cover gives a little more information about the story.

We've Got it Covered {2} : Sarah Dessen Cover Changes

It's been a while since my last "We've Got it Covered" post.  I was browsing through the blogosphere and noticed something that had only been spotlighted on a small number of blogs, which I was surprised about!  Sarah Dessen is a huge YA author and her books just got recovered.  If you've seen some of her older covers, they all had a pastel/summery vibe and matched, which I always loved!  Well, they've been recovered and this time, I like them even more!

So!  Which covers do you prefer?  Old or New?  Which is your favorite cover of them all?  I'd have to say that I like the new covers best.  I absolutely love the new cover for That Summer with Along for the Ride and Lock & Key tying for a close second.

  

UK vs. US (vs. ARC) : The Hunt by Andrew Fukuda

I was thinking it was time for another UK vs. US competition!  The winner of the last cover showdown was the US!  I tweeted you all asking for suggestions for covers.  Thanks to @rocapri for suggesting The Hunt by Andrew Fukuda!  Personally, if I had to choose between UK and US, I'd definetely pick US.  I feel like the guy on the front of the UK cover isn't relevant and doesn't reveal anything about the story.  I'm really not a big fan of the US cover either, I actually prefer the ARC cover!  I feel like it's a lot more mysterious and relates to the summary more.

US vs. UK Showdown: Slide by Jill Hathaway

     I thought it might be fun to do a UK vs. US cover post once in a while!  The contrast between the covers of Slide by Jill Hathaway always stands out to me!  I really like the US cover because of the dark colors.  I like the blend of colors in the background and they almost look like police lights to me, which fits into the storyline!  I like the UK cover too because it's illustrated and colorful.  I think I like the US better, though.

     I've been noticing several different cover trends lately and I've been wanting to post about them, too.  Thus, We've Got it Covered was born!  Every once and a while I'll be posting a We've Got it Covered where I'll spotlight a recent YA cover trend and give you my two cents!  Then, its up to you to comment and tell me what you think!  Please leave some suggestions for future posts, too!

Water Covers

     I'm never sure why but, I've always been in love with water covers.  I guess they add some mystery to the storyline.  Whenever I see a water cover, I always want to buy the book.  Imaginary Girls and The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer are two of my favorites!  I love how the covers for these books look as if the characters are frozen in time, or stuck in their problems, or drowning.  I guess that's just it; water covers leave so much room for interpretation!  I love that!  The Cover is in the eye of the beholder.  I feel like the cover for All These Lives is also mysterious.

What do you think of water covers?  Which one is your favorite shown above?  What are some other water covers that you like?  What should the next cover feature be?  How often should I do this feature?

Spotted: More Cover Reveals!

This week was quite the week for cover reveals!  I just thought I'd share a few of the ones I've spotted lately!

Doesn't the Cover for Shadow and Bone remind you of the Cover of the Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern?  It's so mysterious!

OMG!  Ten is now the highest on my wishlist for this year!  I need this book. now.  The cover looks awesome and goes with the synopsis perfectly!  Gretchen McNeil said it was written in homage to And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie!  That's one of my all time favorites!  I NEED Ten!

Cover Reveal: Time Between Us

Hey Remarkable Readers, I've been seeing this beautiful cover on a few blogs this morning and I'd love to share it with you!  Today is the Time Between Us by Tamara Ireland Stone Cover Reveal!  I absolutely love it!  What do you think?

     It sounds awesome!  I've been really into time travel stories lately and this one looks great!  It reminds me of the Time Travelers Wife (which I've never read/seen) and I'm excited to see something like it for YA.  What do you think?  What are some of your favorite YA time travel books?  Do you like the cover?
